Peter W. Jarvis

Peter Jarvis is a seasoned healthcare finance executive and entrepreneur with over four decades of leadership in hospital reimbursement. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Healthcare Reimbursement Solutions (HRS), which he founded and led as President and CEO from 2015 to 2020.

Peter has a long history of building industry-leading reimbursement companies. He founded Healthcare Payment Specialists (HPS), which became a national leader in Medicare reimbursement services, offering Disproportionate Share (DSH) Adjustment, Reimbursable Bad Debt, Transfer DRG (TDRG), Graduate Medical Education (IME/GME), and Volume Decrease Adjustment (VDA) solutions to over 4,000 hospitals across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. HPS’s growth and market leadership culminated in its strategic acquisition by TransUnion.

Earlier, Peter founded Premier Healthcare, a pioneering CHAMPUS/TRICARE reimbursement firm serving more than 3,000 hospitals nationwide. After its acquisition by QuadraMed in 1998, he directed the development of Medicare Capitation audit services, among the first offerings of its kind. Peter began his career in 1972 at Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst & Young), managing Medicare reimbursement projects and teaching reimbursement methodology at the National Education Center, before serving as CFO and Treasurer of a Southern California hospital system.

Throughout his career, Peter has mentored numerous professionals who have gone on to become leaders in healthcare finance. He is a longstanding member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) and has presented widely on hospital reimbursement at national industry events.
